Kreditkartenvergleich.io is an independent credit card comparison for Germany. We help you find the card that genuinely fits you in a confusing market based on real conditions and a transparent, traceable rating. One principle sets us apart from the large portals: we work entirely commission-free.
The editorial team
Behind the comparison is our editorial team. As a team we maintain a single, central data set: for every card we record the annual fee, interest, foreign-currency and cash fees, insurance and other conditions in a structured way and check them regularly against the providers official sources. We deliberately act as an editorial team, not as individual names: what matters is a consistent, verifiable process, not the opinion of a single person.
How we check – step by step
For every card, our editorial team follows the same, verifiable process:
- Capture: we take every condition – annual fee, interest, foreign-currency and cash fees, insurance, SCHUFA, IBAN – directly from the provider's official source or price-and-service directory.
- Cross-check: we compare every value against a second, independent source; if they conflict, the provider's primary source decides.
- Weigh: the checked values feed into our openly documented, weighted methodology – the same formula for every card.
- Correct: if a value deviates or a provider changes its conditions, we correct it and set a new status date.
- Repeat: we re-check the data set on an ongoing basis so the ranking and details stay current.
Our editorial principles

Our card data comes from the providers official sources product pages and price-and-service directories each with a traceable status. In addition we draw on reputable specialist sources. If a value deviates or a provider changes its conditions, we correct it. If an inconvenient detail is missing, we deliberately rate cautiously rather than gloss over it.
How often we update
We check conditions on an ongoing basis and update the data set as soon as something changes. Every rating and guide page carries a visible update date so you know how current the information is.
