This privacy policy informs you about how we handle your personal data when you visit our website. Personal data is any data with which you can be personally identified.

Kreditkartenvergleich.io is a purely informational comparison website without user accounts, without an ordering process and without tracking for advertising purposes. We collect as little data as possible.

The responsible party is based in Canada. An adequacy decision of the European Commission exists for Canada (for organisations subject to the Canadian data protection law PIPEDA), so that any transfer of personal data to a third country takes place at an adequate level of data protection recognised by the EU (Art. 45 GDPR).

3. Hosting and server log files

Our website is hosted on a dedicated server. The web server automatically collects and stores information in so-called server log files, which your browser automatically transmits. These are: browser type and version, operating system used, referrer URL, host name of the accessing computer, time of the server request and the IP address.

This data is not merged with other data sources. Processing is based on Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (legitimate interest in a technically error-free and secure operation of the website). The log data is generally deleted automatically after 7 days at the latest, unless it needs to be retained longer in individual cases to investigate security incidents (e.g. attempted attacks or abuse).

4. Cookies

This website does not use tracking or marketing cookies. Only technically necessary mechanisms are used to store your display settings (e.g. your language and appearance preference such as light/dark mode) in your browser's local storage. This data remains solely on your device and is not transmitted to us or any third party. No consent is required for this (§ 25 (2) TDDDG).

5. External links to providers

On our card and comparison pages, we link to the official websites of the respective credit card providers (e.g. via the "Apply now" button). When you follow such a link, you leave our website. The respective provider is solely responsible for data processing on the providers' pages. Please inform yourself there about their data protection regulations.

We do not use any tracking parameters or affiliate cookies for these links.

6. Contact via the contact form

If you contact us via our contact form, we process your details (name, email address, and where applicable subject and content of the message) exclusively to process your request. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (legitimate interest in responding) or Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR, if the request is aimed at a contract. The data is deleted as soon as it is no longer required to achieve the purpose and no statutory retention obligations conflict with this.

You have the right at any time to free information about your stored personal data (Art. 15 GDPR), its origin and recipients and the purpose of data processing. You also have the right to rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and objection (Art. 21 GDPR).
