The most important documents
Have the following documents ready for the application:
- Valid ID card or passport
- Proof of registration or current home address
- Proof of income (e.g. payslips of the last 2–3 months)
- Your bank details (IBAN) for the reference account
- For the self-employed: current income tax assessment or business analysis
What to look out for
Make sure all details are current and correct. Discrepancies between your details and the documents provided can delay the application.
For prepaid cards and some debit cards, proof of income and a SCHUFA check are often not required at all.
